Jeff Kunerth is an award-winning journalist with the Orlando Sentinel. In his nearly 40 years in journalism, he has written about the elderly, minorities, religion, education, demographics, and law enforcement. He has been recognized for his work by the Society of Professional Journalists, the National Press Club, the Florida Society of Newspaper Editors, and the Orlando Police Department. He is coauthor of Florida’s Paved Bike Trails.
Kunerth teaches writing and reporting classes at the University of Central Florida where, in 2010, he was named adjunct teacher of the year.
Kunerth received his bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and his Master’s in Creative Nonfiction from Goucher College. His father taught journalism for 30 years at Iowa State. His brother, Bill Kunerth, is publisher of the Idaho State Journal in Pocatello.
Kunerth lives with his wife, Gretchen, in Altamonte Springs. They have two sons, Chad and Jesse.
